Geraldine Alsup born in 1971 to George and Ramona Alsup. Hearing her first poem at the age of five from her pastor and future spiritual mentor, Apostle Eugene Satterwhite, she was immediately inspired to write her own poems. But it would not be until the age of eleven when a school teacher would take notice of her ability and original creativity in her first spoken poem called, “My School Won’t Hold.”Although homeless by fourteen, and physically adopted by Amos and Emma Moore at the age of fifteen, this would prove to be Geraldine’s deepest poetic moments. She was able to share and describe her depression, hurt, disappointments and abandonment in a phenomenal poetic story style that would be her best signature work of today. Geraldine was been able to encourage, uplift and inspire not only herself but also others for years to come. Not wanting people to judge her and to remain anonymous, she created her poetry-writing name, The Silent Poet.
